One In Twenty Qualifications Are Mis-Quoted!
A review of Agenda's screening services has revealed that 5% of all qualification checks come back with serious concerns, these range from claimed higher grades than were actually achieved through to never completing the course. This can be a major issue where the qualification is a requirement for the job being offered. There may be a number of reasons for this increase in detected issues such as higher numbers of graduates seeking employment and when combined with high levels of unemployment we may be seeing the signs of candidates becoming more competitive or desperate to find employment. In some cases the person had never attended the college or University and numerous individuals had exaggerated their results. We have also found candidates where the most recent and relevant qualification is genuine but previous qualifications have been "mis-quoted", this then becomes a judgment call for the client because the person has "lied" even though his/her relevant qualification is genuine. The message is clear, if the qualification is important to the role or position being offered it has to be checked at source to ensure that it is genuine..
