Security Awareness Training Courses

Our security awareness training courses have evolved into various packages that are individually packed for each client to ensure that the information is up-to-date and relevant. It is worth pointing out that Agenda also provides voluntary “free” talks in the UK to schools and colleges on the subject of the use of animals in research and that we have done radio and newspaper interviews on behalf of the Institute of Animal Technology (IAT) and the Coalition for Medical Progress also free of any charge.

The training that we do charge for is presented by people who have worked in the research or security industry for many years, some of whom have been personally targeted and worked for organisations that have been targeted. They are also trained facilitators and so the courses are based on providing a positive learning experience, group exercises and an enjoyable (memorable) training course. We have already run over 100 courses, training over 3,500 individuals in the UK, Europe and the USA & Canada with excellent feedback and we can see that the tighter legislation is driving some groups to either more extreme (terrorist) activities or infiltration (PETA).

	Security Awareness – Half Day Course This course raises awareness of the tactics used by animal rights groups in relation to the environment (why there is an issue), security systems (how systems can help respond to the environment), issues relating to risks to facilities and communications (current and past animal rights tactics) and people issues (infiltrator tactics and the development of practical awareness measures that individuals can take). 	Security in Recruitment – Half Day or Day and a Half Course This course concentrates on preventing infiltration and looks at advertising strategies, review of application forms and CVs, interviewing and finally through to spotting an infiltrator. Having profiled 15 of the most prominent infiltrations we use “actual” infiltration materials to reinforce the messages. Using a 3 stage process to highlight the key recruitment, background screening and post hires issues. The course materials include a complete set of key learning points. 	Social Engineering & Taking Difficult Telephone Calls This interactive course outlines how animal rights groups use the telephone system to gain information, terrorise people and issue bomb threats. We profile the kinds of calls to expect, how to deal with them effectively and how to develop simple templates for recording the information. 	Personal Security Animal Rights groups have been successful at targeting research organisations, suppliers and individual employees. The course outlines the common tactics, how social engineering is used to get your information, the targeting of individuals and escalation of threats. The comprehensive course workbook provides hints and tips about making yourself a more difficult target and how to minimise your exposure to these tactics – from protecting your identity through to driving tips if you are being followed.
